Staring at his gadget’s screen, Mr. Kleiman rattled off a list of requests that had been sent in the past 10 minutes, all from people interested in booking a D.J. from the stable he manages:

“Rich, can we get Jus Ske to D.J. Pharrell’s performance at Super Bowl this weekend?”
